The Court Fork Overlook sits on the west side of Zion Canyon, looking down over Dagger's Point and the Bend Bridge. Apart from the ranger substation towers, it is the only dedicated viewpoint in the canyon. A steep, bleached slope that you can see clearly from the Virgin River climbs straight up to it, and the easiest approach is from the northeast.
A hollowed-out rock sits behind the Scenic Overlook sign, and Follows-Chalk, if he is with you, wonders aloud what a scenic overlook is supposed to be. Together with the nearby Patriarchs' Campground, the spot matches the real Court of the Patriarchs in Zion National Park. Its marker is also revealed by Well-Stacked Cairns from Ranger Substation Eagle.
How to get there
From Patriarchs' Campground, head south and climb the bleached slope above the river.
Notable loot
- Hollowed-out rock (behind the Scenic Overlook sign)
Tips
- Check behind the sign for the hollowed-out rock.
- A good spot to scout the Bend Bridge before crossing.
