The Junction 7 rest stop lies at the east end of the High Road, down a dirt slope where the highway runs out. Two destroyed buildings remain, one still standing but partly sunk into the ground, and a warhead sits halfway down the slope near an old billboard. A similar sunken building to the north holds a reloading bench and has one of Ulysses' blue flags on its roof. The stop is a side trip; the main path continues along the off-ramp toward Ashton.
The main draw is the snow globe - Lonesome Road, tucked into a toppled bookshelf on the second floor of the first building. Like the other add-on globes it gives you 2,000 caps on pickup and goes on the shelf in the Lucky 38 suite. Getting close to the building spawns tunnelers around the back and a pair of deathclaws on the highway above, so be ready; the warhead on the slope makes a good trap. The building also has a first aid box, a crate with beer and cigarettes, and metal boxes of reloading supplies.
Ulysses log: Y-17.22 is close by, at a smoking campfire against the rock wall at the High Road's dead end. Climb the rocks past the Smitty's sign to the back of a white and orange trailer, then look southwest. A suitcase at the end of the ledge behind the sign holds pre-War money. Grab both before you take the off-ramp to Ashton, since coming back later means another long walk.
How to get there
At the end of the High Road, take the dirt slope that doubles back downhill instead of the off-ramp to Ashton.
