The Red Gate is a rock formation north-northwest of the Red Rapids Docks, overlooking the river. In January 2124, feeling his age, Randall Clark climbed up here so the children he had protected would never find out their Father was only a mortal man. Behind a trio of tall evergreen trees, his skeleton still sits propped against the rocks, facing west-northwest toward Bighorn Bluff, with his duffle bag beside him.
The bag holds Year: 2124, the last entry of his journal, and the Survivalist's rifle, a unique service rifle chambered for 12.7mm rounds. To reach it, work your way around the rock formation to the top, or climb from the northwest, where red dirt leads halfway up and a steep slope barely allows the rest. White Legs, and even Waking Cloud or Follows-Chalk, can path up here and take the rifle, and it is lost for good if the add-on ends before you get it back.
How to get there
From the Red Rapids Docks, head north-northwest and circle the rock formation to its summit.

Tips
- Go early: wandering White Legs or companions can grab the rifle first.
- If an NPC takes it, kill or recover it before finishing the add-on, or it is gone.
- Read the Survivalist's logs in his caves first; this is the last chapter of his story.
