The Spine is a long, narrow ridge of wind-carved rock in the south of Zion Canyon, along the path from the Southern Passage, just south of Two Skies Cave and southwest of the Old Rockville Bridge. Its tallest arched rock gives one of the best views in the DLC, looking north up the valley toward the deeper canyons. Follows-Chalk points it out to you during Arrival at Zion, on the walk from the ambush site toward the Dead Horses camp, and he mentions the view from the cliff top if he is travelling with you.
There is no building or camp here, only rock, wild plants and the bones of someone who climbed up before you. On the northwest side of the summit, tucked behind the big rock, lies a skeleton with a campfire sack and two bottles of purified water beside it. A Hollowed-Out Rock sits in a small alcove just to the south, and a Hollow Log nearby can also be searched. Expect a couple of yao guai and a few geckos, dead or alive; during Arrival at Zion a giant yao guai is scripted to kill a gecko nearby.
How to get there
From Two Skies Cave, walk a short way south and climb the ridge of tall stone arches.
Notable loot
- Two bottles of purified water (by the skeleton on the summit)
