The Virgin River runs the whole length of Zion Canyon and is the reason the canyon exists at all. This marker sits on the main channel in the south, between Dagger's Point, The Bend Bridge and Two Skies Cave, but the same river leads north into The Narrows where the Sorrows live and east to the Dead Horses. Follows-Chalk describes the eastern fork as the place the Dead Horses call home, and Joshua Graham sees the whole valley as a holy place.

Following the riverbank is the easiest way to get around Zion, since the cliffs on both sides are steep and most trails lead back down to the water. The banks are good foraging ground: Sacred Datura Root grows along roads and riverbanks, and you need three of them for Rite of Passage. Honey mesquite and other wild plants are common too. Geckos, yao guai and White Legs war parties use the same routes, so keep your eyes open in the shallows.

How to get there

From The Bend Bridge, follow the water downstream to the southeast toward Two Skies Cave.

Notable loot

  • Sacred Datura Root (along the riverbanks)
  • First aid box, toolbox and combat knife (half-sunk boat with a skeleton at the map marker)

Related quests

  • Rite of Passage

Tips

  • When lost, follow the water; most of Zion's camps, docks and bridges sit along the river.
  • Pick every Sacred Datura Root you see for Rite of Passage.
  • Two Skies Cave beside the river holds three of Randall Clark's terminal logs.
