The X-12 research center stands just west of the Think Tank, with a sign from Doctor Klein announcing that X-12 is closed until further notice. A force field blocks the stairs down to the bottom floor, so you need the upgraded Sonic emitter from the X-8 research center before you can explore it properly. Down there the Y-17 Master Trauma Harness wanders the floor, and killing it makes three Y-17 trauma override harnesses spawn at the front door.
The Master Trauma Harness carries a K9000 cyberdog gun, one of the few ways to get that weapon. The bottom floor also has eight Proton throwing axes inside a podium on the south side, the Light Switch 01 Upgrade: Smart Lights holotape leaning on the projector for Influencing People, and two deluxe chemistry sets that can make Stimpaks or chems if your Science is at least 25. With Wild Wasteland, the harnesses ask who turned out the lights, a nod to Doctor Who.
How to get there
Walk a short way west from the Think Tank entrance.
