Caterpillar's Mound
A caterpillar-shaped rock island in the river south of the Narrows, where both endings of the main story begin.

Caterpillar's Mound is a small island in the middle of the river, south of the entrance to the Narrows and the Sorrows camp. It takes its name from the rocks on top, which look like a caterpillar, and you can see it straight ahead when looking northwest from the dock at the Sorrows Fork Campground. West of the mound, a boat beached on a small island holds two sacks with food and low-level loot.
In the gorge to the northwest is a small unmarked Vault 22 camp overrun by spore carriers and spore plants, with some low-level loot. Two hollowed-out rocks are nearby, one on a slope to the northwest and one on an outcrop to the southwest. After Gathering Storms, you are brought to a spot near the mound to meet Joshua Graham at the start of Crush the White Legs or Flight from Zion.
How to get there
Look northwest from the Sorrows Fork Campground dock; the island sits in the river straight ahead, south of the Narrows.
