The Crashed Vertibird is an Enclave aircraft lying at the bottom of a large crater, east of the Old Nuclear Test Site and south of Matthews Animal Husbandry Farm. Its serial number, VEM-105 2193, matches one found inside the Remnants Bunker, a small clue to the Enclave's history in the Mojave. A few skeletons lie near the wreck, and feral ghouls may roam the outskirts as you make your way down into the crater.
The wreck is guarded by hostile hardened sentry bots and hardened Mister Gutsies, serious opponents for a mid-level character. Energy weapons, pulse grenades or plenty of armor-piercing ammo make the fight much easier. Your reward is in the rear of the aircraft: the Tesla-Beaton Prototype, a unique Tesla cannon. If Arcade Gannon is travelling with you, visiting the wreck triggers a memory he needs to start his companion quest, For Auld Lang Syne.
How to get there
From the Old Nuclear Test Site, head east until the ground drops into the crater with the wreck at its center.
