The Crow's Nest
A booby-trapped sniper nest in two toppled buildings over the High Road, with advanced riot gear and Ulysses log Y-17.16.

The Crow's Nest is a makeshift sniper post in two collapsed buildings leaning over the High Road, a short way past the High Road entrance. An NCR riot control officer once held it, and his ghoulified body still hangs over the west side of the post. Marked men gather around a warhead at the base of the toppled building. Detonate it before they notice you and the blast can wipe most of them out, and it also opens the fallen girder you climb to reach the nest.
The climb is trapped. Live satchel charges sit on the two bridges between the buildings and can blow you off the platform if you rush, and another one hides behind the concrete lip in the middle of the nest. Up top, the dead officer wears the unique advanced riot gear and its helmet, a tougher version of standard riot gear. Ulysses log: Y-17.16 lies next to a bedroll on the balcony of the neighboring building, and a sniper rifle sits near the first aid and ammunition boxes.
A box between the duffle bag and the metal box held Tumblers Today in the original release; since patch 1.4.0.525 it holds Tæles of Chivalrie and Milsurp Review instead. On your first approach, Ulysses can be seen watching from a floor of the southern building before he disappears. The sniper post also gives a long view down the High Road, so it is a good spot to pick off marked men and look for the deathclaws waiting farther along before you climb back down.
How to get there
Walk east along the High Road from Beast's camp; the nest is in the two tilted buildings leaning over the highway.

Tips
- Detonate the warhead below the nest before the marked men spot you.
- Move slowly on the bridges and disarm each satchel charge as it lights up red.
- If you blow the warhead first, the officer's body can be knocked loose, so check below the window if he is not where you expect.
