Next to Raul's Shack

North of the Gypsum train yard, between Raul's shack and the Brotherhood of Steel safehouse, an old rail tunnel runs toward Nellis Air Force Base. George's Nellis artillery timing details note mentions a tunnel entering from the south that nobody has come back out of. Both ends are locked with Very Hard locks, and deathclaws from the train yard sometimes wander up to the entrance.

Feral ghouls and a few glowing ones live inside, and frag mines line the tunnel, some placed on the waist-high ledges along both sides, with two bear traps near the western exit. A dead ghoul wastelander wears a fire helmet and a construction hat sits in a maintenance room. The far end comes out just south of Nellis within sight of the control tower, a way to skip most of the Boomers' artillery.

How to get there

From Raul's shack, walk toward the Brotherhood of Steel safehouse and look for the tunnel entrance north of the Gypsum Train Yard.

Notable loot

  • Fire helmet (on a dead ghoul wastelander)
  • Construction hat (on a table in a maintenance room)

Tips

  • You need a high Lockpick skill for the Very Hard locks at both ends.
  • After you come out, follow the right-hand tracks to the fence, then go left along the fence line to avoid the shelling.
