Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch is one of the most northerly spots on the map, a small ranch house north of the old Highway 95 roadbed and slightly northwest of the Horowitz Farmstead. True to the name, tumbleweeds have blown inside onto the sofa and a bed, and more drift around the empty cattle pen out back. The house has a kitchen, a living room, a storage area and a bedroom upstairs, and a dead wastelander lies in front of the pen.

Walk up to the pen and a nightkin uncloaks to offer you some 'wind-brahmin', an unmarked bit of comedy called Wind-Brahmin Wrangler. The price is every cap you are carrying, and turning him down or mocking his 'doggies' makes him hostile, so be ready to fight either way. The house holds a copy of Lying, Congressional Style and a cattle prod upstairs plus a star bottle cap in the kitchen, but everything inside counts as owned, so taking any of it costs Karma. Sneak if you care about your reputation.

How to get there

From the Horowitz Farmstead, travel a short way northwest across the old Highway 95 roadbed.

Notable loot

  • Lying, Congressional Style (top floor shelf, owned)
  • Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap (kitchen, owned)
  • Cattle prod (top floor, owned)

Related quests

  • Wind-Brahmin Wrangler

Tips

  • Everything in the house is owned, so expect a small Karma loss for the skill book and star cap.
  • Buying a wind-brahmin costs all of your caps and refusing makes the nightkin hostile, so stash your caps first or be ready to fight; he carries a Stealth Boy and keeps any caps he took.
