Ruby Hill Mine is cut into a west-facing cliff slightly northwest of the Followers Safehouse, in the hills northwest of Vault 22. Outside there is a hollowed-out rock with random loot and a grave near the cliff face, and a bighorner bull often grazes nearby. Inside, the main room and the large flooded cavern beyond it are home to several lakelurks, which can hurt you badly from range, so use the tunnel corners for cover.
The flooded cavern holds an odd scene. Under the water sits a round table with four skeletons in the middle of a hand of blackjack, while the body of a super mutant brute floats above them with a multiplas rifle. A dead Jackal gang member in the same hall carries the unique Pushy displacer glove and a worn key that opens the explosive crates on the island in the lake. Two more explosive crates wait in the northernmost dead end.
How to get there
From the Followers Safehouse, head a short way northwest to the cliff; the mine entrance faces west.

Tips
- Take the worn key from the dead Jackal before swimming to the island crates.
- If the brute's body has sunk, check the bottom of the lake in the southwest corner for the multiplas rifle.
- Fight the lakelurks from dry ground near cover rather than in the water.
