Camp Searchlight is a pre-war gold mining town at the junction of Nevada 164 and Highway 95 that the NCR turned into a military camp. It got in the Legion's way, so Vulpes Inculta had recruits open nuclear waste containers that had sat in town since the Great War. The radiation killed or ghoulified the garrison, and the town is now full of feral and glowing trooper ghouls. First Sergeant Astor's surviving recon squad camps just outside town.
Expect heavy radiation, feral trooper ghouls, glowing trooper ghouls and radscorpions, including a radscorpion queen in the fire station, with golden geckos in the elementary school. Astor gives We Will All Go Together, which asks you to collect irradiated NCR dogtags from the ghouls, and Eye for an Eye, which sends you to Cottonwood Cove. Logan, a prospector hiding in the NCR storage room under the west church, gives Wheel of Fortune; the first step is hacking the storage terminal to find radiation suits. Private Kyle Edwards hides in a house in town.
The loot is worth the rads. The east church basement holds a Chinese Army: Special Ops Training Manual, and the locked fire station hides Knock-Knock, a unique fire axe, in its bathroom. Logan carries the fire station keys, and the kitchen there has a Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap. Bring a radiation suit, Rad-X and RadAway, and watch for the turrets placed around the police station and the fire station.
How to get there
Follow Nevada 164 east from Nipton past Wolfhorn Ranch and take the southern fork to the Highway 95 junction.
