Searchlight East Gold Mine is one of two old gold mines around Searchlight, sitting southeast of Camp Searchlight and northwest of Fire Root Cavern. Gold was mined here before the war, back when Searchlight was a mining town. Today it is a single large cavern scattered with abandoned mining equipment, and a group of Viper gunslingers has moved in. The Vipers are a raider gang, so expect them to open fire as soon as they see you.
Clear the first group and push to the back of the cave, and four more Viper gang members spawn at the entrance behind you, so do not assume the fight is over once the cavern goes quiet. Keep ammo and healing ready for the walk out. Before you head in, climb the shale pile southeast of the entrance to reach a well-hidden Hollowed-Out Rock on a rocky outcrop across from the mine.
How to get there
From Camp Searchlight, head southeast into the hills toward Fire Root Cavern.
Notable loot
- Hollowed-Out Rock (rocky outcrop across from the entrance)
Tips
- Expect a second wave of Vipers at the entrance after you reach the back of the cave.
- Climb the shale pile southeast of the entrance for the hidden Hollowed-Out Rock.
