The Cave of the Abaddon is a long cave formed mostly by collapsed buildings, northwest of the Sunstone Tower roof; an upside-down swimming pool hangs from its ceiling near the entrance. A warhead blast earlier in The Divide sets off an earthquake that blocks the direct route ahead, forcing you through here, and the cave leads straight into The Tunnelers. A fallen warhead at the mouth must be detonated to get in. Just outside, ED-E plays a recording of how the original unit was shot down in the Mojave.
Inside, tunnelers stalk the first chamber, and more burst from mounds past a concrete archway, including the unique tunneler queen. A ledge in the southwest corner of the first half makes a good firing spot, and the narrow archway is a natural chokepoint for satchel charges. In the northeast, near a blue flag, a skeleton's suitcase holds Sunflower Summers' diary. An Auto-Doc is half buried on the way to the buried buildings at the far end, and a copy of D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine lies in the second room upstairs.
When you step out of the buried buildings onto the Boxwood Hotel roof, Ulysses speaks one last time through ED-E, then uses the override code "Navarro" to seize the eyebot. ED-E shocks you and flies off to his temple, and you lose Enhanced Sensors. Before entering, detonate the warhead in the rocks east of the cave mouth and climb the beam marked with a blue flag to reach an eyebot upgrade board.
How to get there
From Sunstone Tower, follow the white flags west past the Saturnite sign to the dirt path and the warhead blocking the cave mouth.
Notable loot
- Eyebot upgrade circuit board (destroyed eyebot on the beam east of the entrance, behind a warhead)
- Sunflower Summers' diary (suitcase in the northeast of the first chamber)
- D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine (buried buildings, second room)
- Auto-Doc (near the door to the buried buildings)

Tips
- Collect every eyebot board and use the commissaries before this cave; ED-E is taken at the exit and only returns at Ulysses' Temple.
- Flash bangs and flares scare tunnelers; satchel charges at the archway thin out the queen's wave.
- The Auto-Doc here heals and removes radiation, but on some platforms it fails to cure addictions.
