The Boxwood Hotel roof is where you climb out of the buried buildings beyond the Cave of the Abaddon, among the destroyed and half-sunken buildings in the heart of the Divide. This is where Ulysses takes ED-E, so from here on you walk alone. Two military shipping crates sit to the right of the exit, a metal box hides behind a vent on the roof, and the hotel's ground floor has two vending machines and a first aid box tucked under two mattresses.
Deathclaws can spawn just outside the building, and across the valley, past a pond fed by a broken water pipe, lies Rawr's cave. Going in triggers a cave-in that traps you with Rawr, a unique and very fast deathclaw. Scared by a flare, it runs to a spot under a warhead lodged in the cave roof; detonating it drops boulders that kill Rawr outright. Its talon crafts the Fist of Rawr, and a second warhead in the rubble opens the way out. An NCR Radio distress beacon lies near the cave mouth.
Several Nostalgia entries are scattered around: the mission report in a duffle bag with skeletons behind a partly buried truck, and two NCR Ranger action reports in a marked men camp on a ledge, reached by passing under the sideways building and climbing the fallen girder. The marked men here respawn, and one may carry a Stealth Boy and a Blade of the West.
How to get there
Walk through the Cave of the Abaddon and climb the stairs of the buried buildings; the exit door opens onto the hotel roof.
