The Hopeville Missile Base Headquarters housed the Army garrison of the missile base before the war. The second floor has caved in, but the ground floor lobby, hallway and side rooms are still open. Two marked men hold the interior and two more watch from the roof, one of them armed with a flare gun, so expect fire as you cross the small bridge from the gas station. Go in through the southwest door, next to a toppled Nuka-Cola vending machine that crushed a skeleton.
This building is one of the most useful stops in Hopeville. An Auto-Doc and a commissary terminal share a room, so once ED-E unlocks the terminal you can heal, flush radiation, trade and repair in one place. A destroyed eyebot under a desk in one of the left-side rooms carries an eyebot upgrade circuit board, and a Hard-locked safe down the hallway holds the Hopeville Base armory access codes. A copy of Nikola Tesla and You sits at the end of a shelf in the first room, half covered by a burned book.
A Stealth Boy waits on an exterior ledge on the third level: drive up the car ramp to the first roof, then climb the I-beam. On the south face of the building, a white flag marks the gate and car-wreck ramp down to the marked men camp, where the laser detonator is waiting. The drop into that camp is one way, so this building is your last safe stop to heal, repair and trade before the fight for the detonator.
How to get there
From the bunker exit, head northeast past the gas station and cross the small bridge to the building.
