Lake Las Vegas sits right beside Camp Golf and the old House Resort. It is a post-War lake: the NCR dammed this stretch off from Lake Mead at its northeastern end, and a long snaking pipeline carries its water northwest to the NCR sharecropper farms that help feed New Vegas.
There is little in the way of loot or quests here. The lake holds old golf carts, shopping carts and plenty of tires, there is a drainage pipe on the northeastern side, and a Sunset Sarsaparilla crate sits on a cliff face to the southwest next to a green yard chair. The NCR presence at Camp Golf keeps the shore fairly quiet.
Most players discover Lake Las Vegas on the way to Camp Golf and never think about it again, which is fair. It is still a handy landmark for orienting yourself in the eastern Mojave, with the Deserted Shack in the hills to the south and Mountain Shadows Campground to the southeast.
How to get there
Directly beside Camp Golf, just south of the camp; you cannot miss the water from the resort.
Tips
- Little to loot beyond a Sunset Sarsaparilla crate on the southwest cliff; use it as a landmark.
- The open shoreline leaves you exposed if sneaking past Camp Golf with a bad NCR reputation.
