Mountain Shadows Campground is an old recreational campsite tucked into the hills southeast of Lake Las Vegas and northwest of Ranger Station Alpha, above the Lake Mead shoreline. It is a small site with a campfire on its eastern side, a few tables and some old vehicles, littered with the remains of whoever tried to make a home here after the bombs.
There is light scavenging among the campsites: a copy of Today's Physician on a table at the upper campsite, a Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap on a table by the fire pit on the south side, and assorted minor loot. The vehicles here explode if damaged, so keep fights away from them, and check the surrounding hills for wildlife before you start looting.
No quest sends you here, so Mountain Shadows is strictly for explorers and completionists. It fills a gap on the map between Camp Golf, Boulder City and the Lake Mead shoreline, and the fast travel point is handy for reaching Ranger Station Alpha, which lies just to the southeast.
How to get there
From Camp Golf head southeast past Lake Las Vegas into the hills; the campground sits northwest of Ranger Station Alpha.
