Lake Mead Cave is a flooded cave southeast of Callville Bay and east of the Scavenger Platform. Its entrance is underwater beneath a large ledge, marked by a partially sunken fishing boat. Four gore bags lie on the lake floor against the boat's starboard side and can hold body parts, frag grenades or ammunition. There are no real enemies, only fish, so the danger here is running out of air rather than anything with teeth.

The first section is mostly flooded but has a surface pocket where you can breathe and drink rad-free water, plus ammunition crates and two first aid boxes near the way onward. A small low opening leads to the second section, which has no air at all, so a Rebreather is strongly recommended. At the back you find a skeleton, suitcases holding 60 pre-war money stacks, unusable poker chips and a Lad's Life magazine.

How to get there

From Callville Bay, swim southeast and dive beside the half-sunken fishing boat under the ledge.

Notable loot

  • 60 pre-war money stacks (suitcases at the back of the cave)
  • Lad's Life (between the suitcases)
  • First aid boxes and ammunition crates (first section)
  • Gore bags (lake floor beside the fishing boat)

Tips

  • Surface in the air pocket of the first section before pushing deeper.
  • Bring a Rebreather for the airless second chamber.
