Lucky Jim Mine is a small disused mine and prospector house in the southeast hills, a little north of Ranger Station Echo and southwest of the Techatticup Mine. The mine entrance itself has collapsed, so the house is the only part you can enter. There is no quest here, which keeps it quiet and makes it a decent stop while exploring the area.

The house holds a workbench, beds, shelves and assorted loot, including a copy of Lying, Congressional Style on the bottom shelf next to the beds. Check the hollowed-out rock outside the southwest corner of the shack as well. Fire geckos are the only real concern, coming up from the bottom of the cliff, and you can jump onto the shack roof to shoot them safely. Because it has beds and a workbench, it is a good spot to rest and repair before continuing toward Nelson, Ranger Station Echo or the Legion positions along the river.

How to get there

From Nelson head south through the hills toward Ranger Station Echo; the mine and its shack are just north of the station.

Tips

  • The house has beds and a workbench, making this a quiet place to recover before heading toward Nelson or Cottonwood Cove.
  • Fire geckos come up from below the cliff; shoot them from the shack roof before you rest.
