Ranger Station Foxtrot is a small NCR Ranger outpost in a dead-end mountain gulch at the foot of a radio mast, north of Red Rock Canyon and south of Vault 22. Its job is to keep an eye on the Great Khans. The camp is just one tent, some bedrolls, a campfire and a reloading bench, and the scotch bottles lying around say a lot about how dull the posting is. Ranger Kudlow is in charge, with Comm Officer Lenk running the radio.

Foxtrot is one of the six stations you visit in Return to Sender, the NCR quest from Sergeant Reyes at Camp Forlorn Hope to deliver new radio codes, and you come back later to look into its suspicious reports. Lenk also has a private money problem with the Omertas, the unmarked quest Lenk's Bad Debts, which you can handle kindly or exploit for caps at the cost of Karma and NCR reputation. A copy of Duck and Cover! sits on the table by the ham radio.

The only way in is from Nevada State Route 157, since cliffs and cazador nests block every approach from the east. Cazadores are the real danger here: fast traveling to the station can spawn one right in the middle of camp, and it may kill a Ranger or two before it goes down. Let the Rangers help you fight, and keep antivenom handy if you plan to explore the nests nearby.

How to get there

From Jacobstown, follow Nevada State Route 157 east and take the dirt path that splits off in front of Silver Peak Mine.

Tips

  • Expect a cazador to spawn in camp when you fast travel here.
  • Compliment Lenk instead of insulting or extorting her if you want to keep your Karma and NCR standing.
  • A hidden cazador nest east of the station guards a duffle bag, but you cannot climb back to camp from there.
