Red Rock Canyon is the home of the Great Khans, a raider tribe that moved into the red cliffs after the NCR's Bitter Springs Massacre killed many of their people. Before the war the canyon was a protected conservation area, and old campsites and petroglyphs still sit between the Khans' tents. The tribe is rebuilding by making and selling chems, and Papa Khan holds court in the Great Khan longhouse at the top of the slope.
The canyon plays a big part in the struggle for the Mojave. Karl, a Legion frumentarius, is here trying to tie the Khans to Caesar, and Oh My Papa, started by Regis, is about winning over Papa Khan's advisors so he breaks that alliance. For the Republic, Part 2 and Wild Card: Side Bets also send you here. Jack and Diane run the drug lab at the back of the canyon, and the Great Khan armorer sells gear. Jessup may turn up here after Boulder City Showdown.
The easiest way in is from the east, following Nevada 159 west from the Whittaker Farmstead or the Poseidon gas station, and the widest entrance is from the south near Spring Mt. Ranch State Park. The Khans are not hostile by default, but bringing Boone turns them against you, and freeing their NCR captives at Boulder City without dealing with Jessup's crew can make that crew hostile. Cazadores nest in the steep pass to the northwest.
How to get there
Follow Nevada 159 west from the Whittaker Farmstead or the Poseidon gas station into the canyon's eastern entrance.
