Next to Bitter Springs
The Red Pass, which the NCR called Canyon 37, was the only way out of Bitter Springs in 2278, when the NCR Army struck the Great Khans after their raids on NCR settlements. First Recon snipers on Coyote Tail Ridge were told to shoot anyone coming through. The people who came were mostly civilians: women, children, the elderly and the wounded. Command ordered the snipers to keep firing until they ran out of ammunition.
Today the pass, the valley linking Bitter Springs with Coyote Tail Ridge, holds a cemetery of 12 Great Khan graves, six lining each side of a path toward the camp, with Khan symbols still visible on the walls. A Great Khan spike helmet hangs on one of the graves, and ghostly sounds can be heard among them. Craig Boone was one of the snipers posted above it that day.
How to get there
From Bitter Springs, walk into the valley that leads toward Coyote Tail Ridge.
