Scorpion Gulch is a dry, rocky canyon southeast of Hidden Valley, just north of the REPCONN Test Site valley. It is a natural landmark rather than a built location, but the name is a fair warning: the gulch is crawling with bark scorpions and giant radscorpions that will chew through a low-level character in a few hits, and extra waves of bark scorpions appear as you push through. The winding floor of the canyon offers little cover and plenty of blind corners where they wait.

Loot is light: dead wastelanders near the entrance, a grave to dig up near the HELIOS One end, and a Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap on a dead wastelander by the boulder that holds the missing laser pistol from Pistol Packing. The main reason to come is that it is the direct route between the Brotherhood bunker and the HELIOS One and Novac side of the map. If you have to cross, do it with a scoped rifle and clear the scorpions from the rim before dropping in, or use a Stealth Boy and sneak through. Radscorpion poison glands are worth collecting for antivenom if you use Survival crafting.

How to get there

From Hidden Valley go through the big break in the southeast fence; the gulch winds east from there toward HELIOS One.
