The Devil's Gullet is a large sinkhole in the hills east of Goodsprings, just over the hill northeast of Goodsprings Cave and a short climb from the Yangtze Memorial. An old trailer and a car have been wedged in to form a ramp down to the bottom, so you can walk in rather than jump. It is a natural landmark with no quest attached, so you find it by exploring the ridgeline early in the game.
At the bottom, a wooden crate next to a pair of ammo boxes holds a Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap, and a couple of coyotes sometimes wait near the entrance. The gullet, the cave and the memorial form a little loop of early landmarks worth hitting while you clear the hills around Goodsprings.
How to get there
From Goodsprings head east into the hills to Goodsprings Cave; the sinkhole is just over the hill to the northeast.
Tips
- Walk down the trailer and car ramp and check the crate by the ammo boxes for a star bottle cap.
- Use the rim as a lookout over the valley between Goodsprings and Sloan.
