The Yangtze Memorial is a stone monument on a hilltop between Goodsprings and Quarry Junction, raised before the war to honor the American soldiers lost in the Yangtze Campaign against China. A large cross bearing the names of the fallen stands inside a fence on a stepped platform, and the hill gives a wide view across the valley toward Sloan and the I-15. It is one of the first marked landmarks most players discover after leaving Goodsprings and heading east.
Loot is light but worth a minute: a hollowed-out rock marked with a peace sign, three graves to the south (one holds items if you have a shovel), and a duffle bag behind the Deathclaws Ahead warning sign to the east. An abandoned shack lies just to the northwest. The hills around it hold coyotes and the odd radscorpion, with tougher radscorpions to the north and west. It also sits on the route to Quarry Junction, which is a very good reason to go no further at low level.
How to get there
From Goodsprings follow the hills northeast past the Devil's Gullet; the large stone cross is visible on the hilltop toward Sloan.
Tips
- Check the hollowed-out rock, the graves and the duffle bag behind the warning sign; the view toward Sloan is the other draw.
- The Deathclaws Ahead sign is serious; Quarry Junction lies beyond it, so turn back at low level.
