Whittaker Farmstead is a small pre-war farm on the north side of Nevada 159, east of Vault 19 and a short walk south of the Samson Rock Crushing Plant. A farmhouse and a few fenced fields are all that remain of a family homestead, and a splinter group of four or five of Cooke's Powder Gangers now uses it as a hideout. It is the kind of stop you find while cutting across country between Vault 19 and the western edge of the city.
Fight the Powder Gangers or sneak around them; the front door has an Easy lock. Inside are some ammunition, Buffout, a ham radio and a Ranger holodisk message on the hall table, and outside there is a giant damaged garden gnome and two graves on the rocks to the west. The farmhouse can also be used as player housing. Deathclaws roam close by and sometimes kill the Powder Gangers before you arrive, so do not assume the quiet will last.
How to get there
From Vault 19 head east across the flats; the farmhouse sits south of the Samson Rock Crushing Plant.
Tips
- Clear the Powder Gangers or pick the Easy lock on the front door to loot the house.
- Deathclaws roam close by; keep your distance if you are low level.
