A ruined plant research station in northern Big MT where the Vault 22 spores began, now guarded by spore plants, spore carriers and Patient Zero.

The X-22 botanical garden is a long-defunct research station north of the Signal Hills transmitter that studied plant life and its military uses. Beauveria Mordicana and the spore carriers were created here before being sent to Vault 22, which shares the station's number. A long metal staircase climbs from the canyon floor to a ruined building, and red crystals in the canyon walls glow at night. Spore plants and spore carriers infest the grounds, and Patient Zero, the first subject of the plant experiments, still roams the ruins.
Two quests bring you here. All My Friends Have Off Switches needs the Sink Project: Biological Research Station holotape, found in the upper area near a hot plate and a duffle bag by the staircase. Field Research asks for three seed packages across Big MT; one sits on the second level of the upper area here, and the other two are near the Signal Hills transmitter. Once the Biological Research Station is running in the Sink, it can clone plants and grow them in the Sink's garden.
How to get there
Go north from the Signal Hills transmitter, or take the path southwest from the Y-0 research center.
