Bison Steve Hotel

The Bison Steve was a pre-War hotel and casino whose rivals at the Vikki and Vance spread rumors about crooked dealers and an unsafe rollercoaster. After the war Old Laurie rented rooms here until she left town. When convicts broke out of the NCR Correctional Facility, a gang of them took over Primm, killed the sheriff and his wife, and made the empty Bison Steve their base, holding Deputy Beagle hostage inside.

The ground floor has a leader and six convicts, most of them dug in behind upturned tables in the dining room at the back. Beagle is tied up in the kitchen past them. You can skip the dining room by picking the Easy-locked maintenance door or using the maintenance key from the storage room behind the reception desk, which needs a Hard lock or an Easy terminal hack. Six more convicts hold the upper floors.

Rescuing Beagle is the heart of My Kind of Town and also tells you where the Courier's attackers went. The hotel has good loot for an early character: the escaped convict leader carries an Incinerator, the gift shop's Hard-locked floor safe holds the unique Lucky revolver beside a copy of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor, and a convict's worn key opens a gun cabinet on the third floor.
