The crashed scout bus lies in a small ravine that splits off the Virgin River, south of Ranger Substation Peregrine and east of the Spine. A scout troop on a trip to Zion died here on the day of the Great War. The bus broke in two on impact, and inside are the skeletons of sixteen children and two adults, with lunchboxes and cherry bombs scattered around. The Dead Horses call it the place where the little ones fell, and Follows-Chalk notes that Joshua says they were scouts, though they looked awfully small.
Joshua Graham sends you here in Roadside Attraction to find a compass for Daniel. A skeleton near the split in the middle of the bus holds the broken compass. You can carry it to a workbench, repair it on the spot with a Repair skill of 30, or use the compass sensor module lying next to a large skeleton at the front of the bus.
How to get there
Follow the Virgin River west from the Eastern Virgin to the mouth of the gorge just west of the Zion Valley Welcome Booth.
Notable loot
- Broken compass (skeleton near the middle of the bus, quest item)
- Compass sensor module (beside a large skeleton at the front)
