The El Rey Motel is a run-down motel outside the southern wall of the Strip, slightly west of the outer gate into Camp McCarran. Before the war it served travelers to McCarran International Airport. Today it is far more dilapidated than the Dino Dee-lite in Novac, and most of its room doors are blocked by debris, so only a few rooms can be entered.
One ground floor room is full of bark scorpions and holds a dead wastelander and a threatening note from a loan shark. Upstairs, two rooms sit behind Very Easy locks, one with a hostile crazed chem addict and one with another dead wastelander, and the top floor also holds a Sunset Sarsaparilla star cap and a Nuka-Cola Victory. It is a short detour if you are already at McCarran, and it is the motel you see in the opening cinematic.
How to get there
From Camp McCarran's outer gate head a short way west; the motel stands just outside the southern wall of the Strip.
Tips
- Bark scorpions fill the one open ground floor room; deal with them before you search it.
- Pick the Very Easy locks upstairs for a Sunset Sarsaparilla star cap and a Nuka-Cola Victory.
