Next to Mesquite Mountains Crater
West by southwest of the California Sunset Drive-in and due east of the Mesquite Mountains crater, an antenna poking out of a sheet of metal marks this little shelter at the edge of a small cliff. Under the metal are a parked motorcycle, a mattress behind it and a half-buried box to the right.
A road cone in front is booby-trapped with a frag mine, and the hockey mask lies right next to it. If the mine goes off the mask can be thrown a long way, and the motorcycle can explode too, hurting anyone nearby and leaving radiation behind. Wandering coyotes sometimes set the mine off. A wooden Sunset Sarsaparilla crate holds a star bottle cap.
How to get there
From the California Sunset Drive-in, head west-southwest toward the crater and look for the antenna on the cliff edge.
Notable loot
- Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottle cap (wooden Sunset Sarsaparilla crate)
- Hockey mask (next to the traffic cone)
Tips
- Disarm the frag mine under the cone before you grab the hockey mask.
- Keep fights away from the motorcycle; it explodes and irradiates the spot.
