Ranger Station Alpha is an NCR Ranger outpost in the hills above Boulder Beach, overlooking Lake Mead with a commanding view of the Fort across the river. It is a small camp of three tents, a campfire and a tall radio tower, run by Ranger Lineholm with Comm Officer Castillo on the radio. The rangers are friendly as long as your NCR reputation is not in the gutter, and Lineholm will even tell you the local legend of a bomber lying intact at the bottom of the lake.
You will most likely come here during Return to Sender, the quest from Sergeant Reyes at Camp Forlorn Hope that sends you around every ranger station with new radio codes. Castillo takes the codes, and later in the quest Lineholm confirms that her report was altered, part of the trail that leads to Chief Hanlon at Camp Golf. Beyond the quest, it is a safe place to rest in the beds of the middle tent, with the lakelurks along the shore the only real danger nearby.
How to get there
From Boulder City follow the road north toward Lake Mead; the station sits in the hills just west of Boulder Beach Campground.
