Old Mormon Fort

The Old Mormon Fort is the oldest building in Las Vegas, founded by Mormon missionaries in 1855 and later made a state historic park. It is now the Mojave headquarters of the Followers of the Apocalypse, whose chapter leader Julie Farkas runs a clinic and shelter for Freeside's sick and poor while never having enough supplies. It sits just inside Freeside's north gate, between the gate and the junk fence that splits Freeside in two.

Two Followers guards hold a sandbag line inside the front gate, and six tents in the courtyard house patients, sleeping gamblers, guards and Followers doctors. Arcade Gannon, a possible companion, is usually in the southwest tent or out in the courtyard. The western guardhouse holds a small medical room and Julie's quarters upstairs, where the Old Mormon Fort snow globe sits on the bookshelf, while the eastern guardhouse is only a storeroom.

Julie gives High Times, about Freeside's chem addicts, and the unmarked quests Short-Term Treatment and Long-Term Care; finish all three with an Idolized reputation and she offers membership, the Followers lab coat and the key to the Followers safehouse. The fort also features in G.I. Blues, Cry Me a River, Nothin' But a Hound Dog, Wang Dang Atomic Tango, where you recruit Beatrix Russell, and Kings' Gambit, where Pacer's patient record sits in the medical room's filing cabinet.
