Freeside's North Gate is the northern entrance to Freeside, the rough district outside the Strip's walls. It is run-down and lightly guarded by a few members of the Kings gang, joined by Orris until G.I. Blues is resolved. Just outside are an abandoned junk shack and an empty animal pen, and the cracked road around the gate is a busy spot for traveling merchants, with the Gun Runners and the Crimson Caravan Company close by.
Through the gate you arrive in the north section of Freeside, right next to the Old Mormon Fort, where Julie Farkas and the Followers of the Apocalypse care for the sick behind their own walls. From there you can reach Mick & Ralph's, the King's School of Impersonation, the Atomic Wrangler, the Silver Rush and finally the gate to the Strip. Bodyguards near the gates offer protection on Freeside's streets for a small fee.
This gate is also worth a return trip later. After you finish Three-Card Bounty for Major Dhatri at Camp McCarran and spend a few days away from Freeside, the body of Little Buster turns up on the train tracks next to the north wall of the Old Mormon Fort. He carries the unique Cram Opener bladed gauntlet, which is easy to miss if you never come back this way.
How to get there
From North Vegas Square, walk a short way southeast to the gate in Freeside's northern wall.
Notable loot
- Cram Opener unique bladed gauntlet (on Little Buster's body, after Three-Card Bounty)
- Hunting revolver (carried by Orris)
