Pine Creek Tunnel was built before the war to carry Utah State Route 9 out of Zion, and it is based on the real Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel. It sits southeast of the East Fork Bridge and the yao guai cave, and in 2281 it is one of only two passable routes in or out of the canyon, the other being the Southern Passage. A large gate covers the entrance and the tunnel interior cannot be entered. Both the Sorrows and the Dead Horses consider the surrounding area dangerous and hard to cross without a map.

The tunnel matters in Flight from Zion, the ending you get by siding with Daniel. Salt-Upon-Wounds and a White Legs war party attack the Sorrows here. You can fight him or pass a Speech check to make him leave in peace. Afterwards Daniel hands you the mining detonator, and setting off the charges above the tunnel mouth brings down the cliff to block the White Legs' pursuit, ending the main story.

How to get there

Follow the road southeast from the East Fork Bridge past the yao guai cave until it ends at the tunnel gate.
