Next to Harper's Shack
Where the railroad tracks end, west-southwest of Ranger Station Charlie, a sealed train tunnel cuts into the hills. You cannot go inside, but five Vipers roam around a campfire in front of it. Harper's shack, the nearest fast travel point, sits in the hills above the tunnel.
Further east, near the unmarked road, a dead Bright follower leans against a rock. The billboard on the hilltop across the road is an ambush spot, usually manned by three more Vipers, or by Legion assassins or an NCR Ranger hit squad depending on your reputation. Deathclaws from nearby Dead Wind Cavern can spot the fight from a distance and come down to join it.
How to get there
Fast travel to Harper's shack and walk down the hill to the end of the railroad tracks.
Notable loot
- Prickly pear fruit (one cactus north of the campfire, three more to the east-southeast)
Tips
- Keep an eye on the hilltop billboard across the road; it hides more attackers.
- Finish the fight quickly; deathclaws near Dead Wind Cavern can notice it from a distance.
