Goodsprings Cemetery

Goodsprings Cemetery is the small graveyard on the hill above Goodsprings, beneath the town's water tower, where the game opens. This is where Benny and his Great Khan hired guns shot the Courier and dumped them in a shallow grave before Victor dug them out. The headstones, the fresh hole in the ground and the dusty slope down to town are the first things you see once Doc Mitchell lets you leave his house.

Beyond the story, the cemetery is worth a look for collectors. The Goodsprings snow globe sits by the grave closest to the water tower and is the first of the set that Jane in the Lucky 38 pays 2,000 caps each for. Five graves can be dug up for random loot in Exhumin' Nature once you have a shovel, which Chet may sell or you can find free near the second pipe at Goodsprings Source. The distinctive cigarette butts next to your own grave can later be shown to Swank as evidence against Benny in Ring-a-Ding-Ding!

Danger is minimal, just bloatflies and a small bark scorpion, but the valley to the east past the Keep Out signs holds giant radscorpions, and the road west of the cemetery leads north into cazador country. The hill is a useful lookout over the town and the valley. Come back once you have a shovel to clear out the graves, and remember the spot when the man in the checkered suit finally comes up in conversation on the Strip.
