Bonnie Springs is a ruined ghost town along Nevada 159 in the western hills, southeast of Spring Mt. Ranch State Park and west of Vault 19. A single main street of derelict buildings leads to a boarded-up saloon. Today the town is held by the Vipers, one of the small raider gangs that survive on the fringes of the Mojave: two Viper leaders and a handful of gunslingers hold the main street and will open fire on sight.
The town is a decent loot stop for the mid game. One of the Viper leaders carries Love and Hate, a unique set of spiked knuckles, and two Sunset Sarsaparilla star caps sit in open crates on the porch of a building on the southeast side of town. Once both leaders are dead, cazadores move in within a few days and nest in the empty houses, so take what you want on the first visit. Nopah Cave to the north is home to fire geckos, so bring fire resistance if you plan to explore it too.
How to get there
From Vault 19 head west through the hills, or from Red Rock Canyon go southeast; the wooden storefronts sit in a valley below the cliffs.
Tips
- Loot the Viper leaders for Love and Hate; after both leaders die, cazadores take over the town on later visits.
- Nopah Cave to the north is full of fire geckos, not cazadores; bring fire resistance if you go in.
