The H&H Tools Factory, directly west of North Vegas Square, belonged to Anthony House, the half-brother who cheated Robert House out of his inheritance. As RobCo grew and H&H Tools sank, Anthony became convinced his brother would come for revenge. On the eve of the Great War he fired his staff, sealed the plant and switched on its defenses, and those systems are still killing intruders more than two centuries later.

The two floors are full of traps: frag mines, rigged shotguns behind doors, a pressure plate that swings a steel girder, tripwires and rooms flooded with radioactive water. Security is handled by Mister Handies, crazed Mister Handies, robobrains and automated turrets. Terminals around the building hold staff messages and Anthony's journal entries, and some of the correspondence is surprisingly funny, so take a moment to read them.

The real prize is Anthony House's office on the second floor, which is guarded by a shotgun trap wired to a tripwire just inside the door. On his desk lies a red Lucky 38 VIP keycard, which gives you another way into the Lucky 38 control room from the penthouse if you lack the platinum chip or a high Science skill. His terminal also has a Lucky 38 executive override option, but it is left over from cut quest content and does nothing in the final game. Move slowly and check every doorway.

How to get there

From North Vegas Square, walk directly west to the factory building.

Notable loot

  • Lucky 38 VIP keycard (Anthony House's desk, second floor)
  • H&H Tools journal entries (terminals)
  • Supplies in the kitchen off the entrance hallway

Tips

  • Crouch and watch for tripwires and pressure plates at every door.
  • Carry RadAway; several rooms are flooded with radioactive water.
  • A friendly Mister Handy can set off a grenade trap in the east wing soon after you enter, so stay clear of it.
