Mojave Outpost

The Mojave Outpost, officially NCR Ranger Outpost Mojave, is the border checkpoint where the New California Republic ends and the open Mojave begins, in the far southwest corner of the map south of Primm. Two huge Ranger statues tower over the highway as part of the Unification Monument, which marks the treaty that joined the Desert Rangers with the NCR Rangers. The outpost itself is a headquarters building and a barracks behind fences and sandbags.

With escaped convicts loose and patrols stretched thin, caravans are stuck here waiting for the road to clear. Ranger Jackson commands the post and offers Can You Find it in Your Heart?, a job to kill giant ants on the road east of the Nipton Road Reststop. Major Knight in the headquarters can repair your gear to full condition and plays a part in My Kind of Town. On the barracks roof, Ranger Ghost sends you to scout Nipton in Keep Your Eyes on the Prize.

The barracks bar is run by Lacey, who sells supplies, plays Caravan and keeps a copy of Duck and Cover! under the counter. At the bar sits Rose of Sharon Cassidy, better known as Cass, a hard-drinking caravan owner who can join you as a companion and whose story continues in Heartache by the Number. A traveling merchant also walks between the outpost and the road junction below each day.
