The path to the Courier's Mile is a narrow way between piled-up car wrecks south of the Hopeville missile silo bunker exit, at the edge of old Hopeville. It only matters after The Launch: the missile you fire from the Ashton silo to break its lockdown bursts over this part of Hopeville and creates the Courier's Mile, Ulysses' own name for the blast zone. When you first approach, a single marked man appears and attacks. The path and the Mile both show up on your map once the missile has launched.

Beyond the path, the Courier's Mile is a ruined, burning cityscape full of irradiated marked men and irradiated deathclaws that do not fight each other, with radiation in the center strong enough to heal the marked men very quickly. The rewards match the danger: the unique Blood-Nap knife stuck in a streetlamp right by the entrance, three high-tech gun cases, mini nukes in the central building, a Stealth Boy, a Nuka-Cola Quartz and boxes of special ammunition. Two more warheads wait to be detonated inside.

How to get there

Backtrack to the Hopeville Missile Base after launching the Ashton missile and head south of the silo bunker exit to the gap in the car wrecks.

Notable loot

  • Blood-Nap (stuck in a streetlamp just inside the Courier's Mile)
  • Three high-tech gun cases (Courier's Mile)

Tips

  • Bring plenty of RadAway and Rad-X; radiation in the middle of the Mile is extreme.
  • Draw marked men out of the hot zone before fighting them, or they keep healing.
