The Villa is the private town Frederick Sinclair built for the guests, staff and workers of the Sierra Madre, laid out just in front of the casino with streets too narrow for cars. To save money for the casino it was built cheaply, from material described as sand barely held together with spit and glue, and two centuries later it is a crumbling maze under the Cloud. The trip begins in the Mojave at the Abandoned BoS Bunker between Camp Forlorn Hope and Nelson, where the Sierra Madre Broadcast lures the Courier into knockout gas. You wake here by the central fountain, stripped of gear and wearing a bomb collar.

The fountain is the hub of Dead Money. Father Elijah speaks through its hologram projector, explains the collar and finishes Sierra Madre Grand Opening! When he is silent it shows a hologram of Vera Keyes, and wails and static drift from it. From here Elijah sends you after Dog in the Villa police station, Christine in the Medical District and Dean Domino in the Residential District, and the team regroups here between stages of the heist. Streets lead west to the Medical District and Puesta del Sol and east to the Residential District and Salida del Sol, while the casino gate behind the fountain opens only after the Gala Event.

The collar is the Villa's constant threat. Radios and speakers make it beep, and staying in range too long makes it explode, so spot them and shoot the blue-lit ones or switch them off; red-lit speakers are shielded. Ghost People and radroaches roam both halves of the Villa, and fallen Ghost People get back up unless you dismember them. Sierra Madre vending machines stand just east and west of the fountain, a hologram vendor still works in a gift shop to the northeast, and a workbench waits further east. Search for three of Dean's secret stashes, three Lover's Mark stashes, over 500 Sierra Madre Chips and a set of Sierra Madre Armor near the police station.

How to get there

Dead Money brings you here automatically after you enter the Abandoned BoS Bunker between Camp Forlorn Hope and Nelson and approach its radio; the fountain plaza sits right in front of the casino gate.

Tips

  • Your gear is only returned when the add-on ends, so stock up from the Villa's vending machines and stashes.
  • Shoot unshielded speakers from a distance before walking into their range.
  • Pick up the Snow Globe - Sierra Madre in Salida del Sol before leaving, because it cannot be obtained afterward.
