The Sierra Madre Casino was Frederick Sinclair's last venture, a luxury resort built to double as a perfect shelter, whose Grand Opening was cut short by the Great War. Its doors stayed sealed for two centuries, and the only way in is to trigger the Gala Event from the Salida del Sol bell tower, which lights the casino up with fireworks and music and opens the main gate behind the Villa fountain. Inside, the lobby connects to the casino floor, the Cantina Madrid restaurant, the Tampico theater and the Executive Suites, all still patrolled by security holograms that cannot be hurt, only shut off by destroying or disabling their blue emitters.

Restoring power from the electrical closet during Put the Beast Down shuts off the casino floor's hologram guards and wakes up the hologram dealers and the cashier, who swaps Sierra Madre Chips for pre-War money one to one. You can play blackjack, roulette and slots, with comps at 2,500, 5,000 and 7,500 chips and a permanent ban at 10,000. The three companion finales happen here: Dog and God wait in the gas-filled Cantina Madrid kitchen, Dean Domino hides backstage in Curtain Call at the Tampico, and Christine waits in Vera Keyes' suite in the Executive Suites for Last Luxuries, next to an Auto-Doc that fully heals you.

Heist of the Centuries begins when the audio lock on the elevator in Vera's suite hears the password in Vera's voice, either pieced together from her recordings at the lobby's sound archive terminal or spoken by Christine. Below lies a maze of speakers, Cloud and holograms leading to the vault, where Sinclair's skeleton lies near the door and 37 Gold Bars of 35 pounds each wait inside. The vault seals behind you. Reading Sinclair's personal accounts traps the Courier there forever; otherwise Father Elijah appears on a screen, and you can kill him, sneak out and lock him in with his treasure, or under the right conditions join him. The ending slides reveal the fates of Dog, God, Dean and Christine.

Tips

  • Shoot or disable the blue hologram emitters instead of fighting the holograms, which cannot be damaged.
  • Shut off all three gas valves in the Cantina Madrid kitchen without Dog seeing you, or he ignites the gas and kills you both.
  • Gold Bars weigh 35 pounds each, so decide how many you can carry before the confrontation with Elijah.
  • Do not open Sinclair's personal accounts on the vault terminal unless you want the trapped ending.
